I painted "Morning Rose", along with "Illumination's Gate" as studies of the rose windows at the Norte Dame and Chartres Cathedrals that I was blessed to see during holidays to Europe.  I was taken back by their beauty and size, yet they still appear to be delicate as a natural rose.  The subject of this painting was a rose window from the chapel at Saint-Germain-en-Laye.
