Artist's Notes:

As I discussed in my notes on "Morning Rose", "Illumination's Gate" was a study painting of architecture and the effect of light shown through rose windows that I visited at the Norte Dame and Chartres Cathedrals. "Illumination's Gate" is based on windows at Chartres.
